Code of the road.

One day some time ago I had a doctor's appointment first thing in the day. As the surgery is only a mile or so away and it was rush hour I decided to use a bike and leave it at my partner's place nearby. While cycling there I felt that something was wrong but couldn't put my finger on it until I arrived and tried to take off the helmet that I wasn't wearing.....
I think that's more of an age thing 😁
Regarding helmets, I've no objection to helmets or not, personally I don't nor does Jo. Just don't be so judgemental either way. Not aimed at anyone before anyone takes exception.

I've taken exception, if you want it back it will cost you one bike. :p

I've also got judgemental, but no one ever wants that back.

Managed to do this on a motorcycle once, I just kept thinking "man today feels great". As soon as I worked out what was wrong I parked the bike and went and got my lid before I lost my license or my life. Forgot my sunglasses on yesterdays ride and that felt strange too but not in a good way, almost went back for them.

Bought my first helmet for cycling a month or so back and now wear it every journey, even the short rides. No reason not to IMO but each to their own and all that.

LOL, the same people who screamed at you if you didn't get a certain medical treatment for a certain 'pandemic' are the same champions of individual liberty and choice when it comes to wearing a helmet. The hypocritical irony.

I wear a helmet, didn't when I was young nobody did. I do now, been thankful once.

Acknowledging others is one of my favourite things. They are usually laughing at me or smiling as there I am shirt with a proper collar and drainpipe chinos, looking like an ad from 197? With the exception of a modern helmet.

I tend to say to those that overtake me lovely day isn't it? Tend to say the same to those I overtake. Those on the other carriageway I greet with a morning, afternoon, evening, as appropriate and a wave.

I don't care what you wear or ride.

This is great, I greet almost everybody I see out if they are walking or on a bike. I'm out in the countryside and I find most people to be friendly. Lots of dogs running around the place and the owners usually thank me when I slow down for them. The people who do ignore my "hello" usually get an extra loud and extra cheery "good day".
