Classic XC Venues in the South East

Looking to short list and test out a number of venues for the UK round of OWMTBC in 2010 - can the forum give me some ideas for a decent XC course/area that ideally has some MTB heritage and is near to the ports/London/Brighton, to attract mainland europeans over for the weekend?

Bedgebury is new but it is good . Campsites near by , and a nice 8mile loop .

I have heard good things about PORC too , near Tunbridge wells . A lot of the Olympic teams will be based there in 2012 so cant be too bad .

years ago my first race was at an army camp at west drayton, was a brilliant course, not far from aldershot if i rememver correctly.

also my second ever race was at corfe castle near poole. that was a good course very up and down and loads of smile factor. royce used to be the sponser back then when it was the "s.a.m.s"

Second the Gorrick team for good race venues on private land around the top of the M3.

Theres also Checkendon, near Reading , a course from BITD which is raced on by RATZ who run the rampage series in summer as grassroots racing ratz

SAMS is now southern XC, run by folks through Pedal On here
