I received this e-mail this morning and have been invited to post it here for RB members to take part if they wish -
Invitation to join us for a Classic Sunday ride – 31st July 2011!
It’s time to dust off your classic bike again and join us for a sociable
ride in the lovely Leicestershire / Nottinghamshire countryside.
This year we are meeting at the Vale of Belvoir Inn & Hotel on the
A52 near Whatton, NG13 9EU [previously called ‘The Haven’].
Access is on the side road – if you come via Redmile you will arrive
at the car park prior to reaching the A52. Camping is available at
the Inn – Tel. No. 01949 850800
9.30am – Booking in and refreshments will be available at the Inn
[they open at 8am and do an All Day Breakfast!]
10am – depart for ride
1.30/2pm[ish] – lunch at The Plough Inn at Stathern
3.30/4pm[ish] – arrive back at The Vale of Belvoir Inn & Hotel for
refreshments, if needed
We plan to ride as a group, keeping together, chatting and generally catching up on the last few months/year(s!
The ride is approximately 40 miles in pleasant undulating countryside passing through small villages with a stop
mid-morning at a Wildflower Farm for refreshments and a lunch stop at The Plough Inn at Stathern – as it’s a
Sunday they have asked if I can advise them of the choices for lunch, e.g. carvery, snack, etc. - they have a
website and you can view their snacks menu at :- http://www.theploughstathern.com/snacks.html or please call
me and I will email/post a menu. (If I have emailed this I will have also attached the ‘snack menu’ - Val.)
We would love you to join us and would
appreciate it if you could let us know as soon as
possible that you intend to be there to enable
us to make the appropriate bookings.
We look forward to a good ride, good company
and enjoying the scenery and places of interest
along the way. (Not to mention good weather!?)
