Segmented cables like Jagwire Elite Link, Alligator etc if the bends are tight and it is all a bit of a squeeze. With segmented shift cables you have to make sure that all the links are properly compressed which can be a right fiddly arse running them internally.
Also; it is important that the liner is flared into the last link, of the section from shifter to first stop/adjuster, as the liner can, over time, get dragged into the shifter spool.
If done right the link systems can work a treat. If done badly they will lead to alot of cursing with index shifting.
