These came to me on a bike I just picked up and I don’t have a use for them. Cosmetically they are good and they move up/down nice and smoothly, they seemed to work well on the bike. The smart shock doesn’t work, it has some damage on the side where the switches are.
But there’s a story; I noticed the o rings were missing on the lower shock pivot (last pic), I’ve fitted a couple now. But, upon removing the lower pivot bolt - I found it wasn’t a lower pivot bolt at all. Rather a 8mm extended socket and beer can shim (Guiness I think
), see next post for more pics…Having said that it all works fine, is probably just as strong as the correct bolt and it’s not obvious there’s anything different in there. It’s just that now I’ve seen it I can’t/wouldn’t sell them without mentioning it.
I had always intended to sell these on, just offering them that little bit cheaper - if you’ve got a 12mm pivot bolt spare, or you don’t care they’ve been fixed ‘creatively’ - you’re quids in!
