This is mine. It is a GT Timberline. I use in a power trainer and as a commuter.
I have change the wheels (50 euros both new double wall). It is now 9 speed Alivio and sram attack because I have one kit. It will go back to the original STX and 8 speeds when the casette have enough wear. Fork works fine (Betor oil-spring) and I have add a cheap carbon saddle for less than 20 euros that is very confortable and light weight.
Cost: a bit less than 200 euros and I think it is cooler than a big box bicycle.
I like cheap projects. I use more this bicycle than the others. It is more fun. You change any thing, test other stuff ... I like it. Next: go back to 8 speed.
