Hi, currently getting near the end of my 82 Raleigh competition build, the suntour ultra freewheel is good, chain shot, which chains are people using these days for them, thanks dave

Re:

Hi, thanks for reply, Ive heard due to the narrow spacing on the freewheel that people run 9 speed chains with this particular model to avoid gliding between gears.

Re:

Wippermann are far from cheap but as tough as old boots.

For something a bit more wallet-friendly, I've recently started running a YBN on my road bike and am pleased with that so far.

Ordered a bargain Sunrace 8sp chain for my tourer this evening so will report back on how well it performs; from past experience their cassettes certainly seem decent value for money so hopefully a Sunrace chain - which I've not tried out before - will be too.

I've had some near misses with newer SRAM chains almost snapping on me so tend to steer clear of them these days - quality control seems to have dipped since production shifted from the ex-Sachs factory in France.

Hi. I've got a couple of those Sachs chains that you're referring to. Brand new still in the box. I've kept hold of them and resisted using them. Would you be interested in one of them? Regards Pete
