One more thing Carlton fans...is there a correct way of re-installing the Carlton headbanger? I've got the two studs but how do I get them back in the holes without damaging new paint job?

Don't use the rivets to hold it in. Use something like a dab of tigerseal just kept the rivets there for show and to line up the badge.

But I still have to tap the rivets into the holes...? They seem too big to go back in

Is there a lot of paint in the holes? Can you make the holes a bit bigger? You can cut down the rivets to just the heads, attach the badge lining it up with two thin nails or similar and then glue the river heads over the holes in the badge.

Or find some smaller rivets
