Can someone date my M-Trax Ti then ?

I've googled - it's very close to a M-trax brochure scan which I've seen on here, but has different forks & groupset.

Mine has RC-35's and a Deore XT groupset and Mavic wheels...

I had it going on ebay - but I'm going to keep it - thanks to the forum here, I've gained a new appreciation for it's simple lines.

Any info/brochure info - much appreciated....

Some pics here...

Forum won't let me attach a 640x480 201k jpg... Grrr. As an alternative ...

Ta !

Had a bit of luck with 94 on that Kona, so will try again with this one.

Actually had one of those myself a good few years ago, had 7 speed LX kit so that would sort of tie in with that year.

It's a '94 judging by the colour scheme. I was doing a tidy up over the weekend and found all my old Raleigh brochures :D

I'm looking at the '94 brochure and weirdly enough, there isn't a Ti 4000 model, the highest one is Ti 3000 with a LX group and optional Pace RC35 fork.

But the paint work/decals match and it would be the next model up ;)

This thread is useless without scans :D

I bought it late in a year - as it was end-of-season stock being discounted for the next year, so let me hop up a level of groupset - I didn't want LX if I could get a bike with XT...

Also those forks. I loved em. A lot. And my old bike wasn't an aheadset frame.

I'll keep digging. Chatting to some cycling buddies to see if they can remember better than me...

Whooppie  it's actually a '95, I didn't think I had the brochure, but I've just found it.
Original spec had the Ti 40 bonded fork, a rebranded U.G.L.I fork from the '94 Dynatechs.

Soz then. Gonna pull it this morning...

I'm gonna keep the Carerra and the M-Trax.

There's a GT i-drive there though still for sale... ;)

Can't help wondering if the RSP mob just raked in their parts bins and knocked up as many bikes as they could at the end of a season !!

I think they were trying to get rid of all the bonded Dyna-tech/M-Trax framesets.

Hence why the paint jobs were nearly the same on the 94 and 95 models.

Dull yet interesting point ...

Waay back before this - perhaps in '90-'91, I bought a bike from a lad who'd bought it in the states - prior to Raleigh using Dyna-tech - this bike was made by Dynatech USA - I think it was one of two identical's that he'd imported. I think I'm right in saying that Raleigh bought the technology/license to build em ?

It was a Dynatech frame - alu tubes though, rather than Ti - with a horizontal top tube. Odd bike - blue tubes and pinkish headtube and lugs etc. I loved it. Really unusual and much lighter than my Kona Cinder Cone that I'd raced previously.

Funnily enough, bumped into someone with an identical bike at Cheddar Gorge races one time. Was well weird.

/wanders off in nostalgia etc.
