Can I respray a carbon frame

Hi...Ive a slightly battle scared carbon frame - does anyone know if and how you strip and respray them or has anyone done it?

Mechanical strip (sand paper, work from 120 up the grits to 400 ish) do not use chemicals for stripping unless you want a soggy strandy noodle.
CF primer (epoxy based primer)
base coat (paint)
clearcoat

you can paint it with 2k or epoxy paints, I've never tried to paint it with anything else.

insert suitable flatting etc. in between coats.

As above.....in 20 years expect a flood of " asbestos " style claims for carbon lung disease......the stuff is horrible.

How scarred is the frame? I've seen carbon frames snap exactly where a scar was. Painting the frame will make it look like new but won't put the strength back.

Scraping with a knife works well to remove the old paint. Then finish with wet sanding
