Crumbs I can't actually remember ...spent a lot of time a few years back modifying 8 speed blocks for 6 speed and 7 speed indexing..there was definitely a difference in cog thickness but I don't think it was as big as .1 per cog! With out going to measure I thought it was something like 2.39 thickness for 7 and 2.34 for 8.
I did find that replacing the plastic spacers with alloy did help in chasing out the tiny descrepancy at the top and bottom of block when shifting.
I think the difference between the sprocket thickness is 0.05 mm (ignoring IG) and the remaining 0.15 mm is the narrower spacing.
