Hi all

Looking for 1st gen chorus monoplaners to complete my build. Must be in good condition . Does Anybody have a pair (would also consider 2nd gen )

Cheers !

Re:

Thanks Foz nice spot . I believe they are 2nd gen but will certainly keep them in mind if I can't find 1st gen.

On another note- it's very hard to find these without rusty cone nuts. Has anyone tried getting components like this chrome plated? I enquired at a metal platers recently who said they can do it for about £2 per nut / bolt. But had a minimum £20 charge. I wondered if people collectively would be interested in sending their parts in together to reach the minimum charge ...

Re:

What's the difference between 1st and 2nd generation? I have a set the same as Foz and always thought there were 1st generation.....and all the chrome wear on them is in the same condition....

That's why I haven't used them on any if my restored bikes :(

Re:

The 2nd gen have a different arm profile, with a flat side section. (This set was passed down to Athena after) . They also have different brake pads and shoes and black rubber o-rings, whereas the 1st gen were white with white covers on the tyre guides

Theres a good side by side photo comparison here:

I don't know if performance wise there's any difference. I'm currently running late 90s veloce ones, mainly because the finish is so good (arguably nicer than chorus from what I've seen, although others say some parts arent finished as well) and they have no rust. They come with modern (record) brake pad shoes and with kool stop pads theres not really any difference compared to dual pivots , although this might have a lot to do with running modern levers as well.

I would like to try and complete my chorus group though!
