I am refurbishing my 1993 Cougar 753 and needed the correct cable set for 8 speed Record ergopower.
Campagnolo still support 8 speed by retro-fitting the current Ultrashift/Powershift cableset but there are dwindling stocks of the correct ones still around.
Should it matter to fellow retrobikers, the Ultrashift cableset isn't the same: it will work of course but it's not the same - the gear cable casing being narrower.
Correct cables [referred to as Ergopower pre2008] are currently available from Cycle Surgery, Geoffrey Butlers and Wiggle. HighonBikes will have them too and at a very good price.
I've no affiliation - just thought I can't be the only person looking for the correct stuff. Hope it helps.
