If it is the first b-numbered Brodie, I can imagine that they stamped two numbers, i.e. the normal number according to the old order and the new b-number. Although the later b-Brodies don't have a second number as far as I know.
Anyway, the second number stamped on this Climbmax would fit pretty well to a 1990's Brodie. This site in a German forum lists some Brodie models/numbers/build years: https://www.mtb-news.de/forum/t/an-alle ... 631/page-6

Catalyst 1157 1989
Climbmax 1263 1990 (B001)
Catalyst B136 1992
However, this is all a guess, based on the information above.
To be really sure, it would be best to contact Paul himself and ask for more information about this particular frame.

Yep, I am convinced - Kona is plausible. Noodle and drop outs don't like brodie.
