Brake lever inter changeability

Hi guys, I'm aware levers for cantis won't work with v brakes but what levers are needed for cable discs? Do road bike sti levers work with caliper and canti and cable discs. Thanks in advance. Lee

Avid BB5 and BB7 disc brake calipers come in two versions, one for road/drop/sti levers, which will also work with cantilever brake levers, and one for V-brake levers.

Ok thanks. So if I have shimano sti levers I'd have to make sure I bought the correct calipers.

Yes, you need road disc callipers, there are several available from Hope, Shimano, Avid and TRP, including some hybrid cable/hydraulic systems:
