Thats the fella! Should just undo. Bolt the BB tool to the axle and go from there.

I had a 1992 frame with a mid range shimano cartridge that went in 'the wrong way round' - whatever that year used fior 4/500LX chainsets

Is that what I have here?

When you say bolt tool to bb, is this what you mean?



Any idea where to get correct size bolt?

What's the BB shell width?

If it's 70mm then it's an Italian thread, which is opposite to an English thread.

If it's 68mm or 73mm then it's all FUBAR.

attaching the tool to the axle helps immensely in keeping the tool square/a long handle wrench helps also.is it stuck or is it loose & just won't come out? if the latter those BB cable guide screws can interfere & keep the BB from removing.

I had the weird bb in my bike when I got it. Screwed out the 'normal' way but the lock ring was on the drive side with the 'main body' in the non drive.
