Bonded Alu brakes bosses Glue

Hello,

Got my hands on a 80's CX frame from Vitus - bonded / glued aluminium as they do.
For whatever reason one of the brake bosses was unscrewed and unglued. I'd like to glue it back on, before screwing it. Any advice regarding what glue to use ?

I would suggest an epoxy, it's what was used originally. The 3M one is flexible, which worrys me slightly although the glue film will be thin.

The flexible property isn't of the jelly wobble variety but it does allow expansion and contraction along with vibration resistance. Check the bond strength data for tensile and shear. Rigid adhesives will lose adhesion over time if they cannot cope with conditions. Contact Permabond and Loctite directly, they both have suitable products that are superior to the original.
