Black Cassettes.......

Morning!

Now I know that a black cassette wont stay black for ever but I want to add one to my new wheel set.

It is destined for a Deore LX M550 hub and ideally needs to be 7 or 8 speed. Keeping it Shimano I have found this one and not many others.....

I'm apprehensive that it is quite cheap, can anyone recommend a better black cassette or is the one in the link going to be reasonable?

Apologies for my lack of knowledge this is the first index geared bike I have owned/built in 37 years!

Re:

If it helps, I’ve got one of these fitted to my 91 Explosif build and it’s pretty damn good so far, it’s the better of the two Shimano cassettes available and the only black one I found too! I know a few people like the Sram cassettes but again I’ve only seen the 7/8 speeds in silver.

Black cassettes just look cheap and heavy to my mind just like a black chain. If you change your mind you can’t go wrong with a Shimano HG41 7speed, or HG51 8speed cassette, shiny and light due to drilled cogs.
