hi all, i'm new to the forum but not to mountain biking, somer of you may know me from the mint sauce
page on facebook. :mrgreen:
i'm trying to rebuild/restore a muddyfox courier unknown year.
i found after starting to strip it it had a double chain ring set of bio-pace! other than my knowledge of bio-pace just plain not working are they cool on a retro bike? a muddyfox for that matter. :?

I have them on my retro MTB and road bikes. I'm happy with them - no idea if they are actually good or bad, but they are old. And IMHO cool.
I do have a modern MTB for serious riding though.

Its an 88 and should have suntour 3040 accushift drive train kit, diacompe brakes and sugino cycloid cranks with oval rings. Its an excellent entry into the world of retro bike.

If you really want to be period specify you'll have to paint that fork white too. ;-) Never understood why they didn't paint it purple like the front of the bike.

Cycloid - now there's a word I haven't heard for years.

Think there was talk about bio pace ovals doing people's knees in back when the were used seriously, never bothered me though?

Yours is top right I think?
Not a very good quality scan but if you go to the catolouge scans you might find some thing better or use the google search at the top, should through something usefull up, nice bike hope you get on with it!!!

what i pulled of it are exage cantilevers, alivio rear mech, unsure of front mech, the biopace rings. and the stuff in the pictures down below.
