Best way to restore a nickle p7

Hi

I've got an old orange p7 in nickle, but it's flaking in places... Has anyone here restored one of these? I'm wondering if wire wool is Best or if it will leave score marks? And also is there any way to reproduce the original nickle effect?

Yip,tin foil used when soaked in coke, found a link here or on google brought my old p7 and f7 forks up a treat, not perfect but 100 times better than they were.think it works as an abrasive like sand paper but not course

Tiny bit around the bottom bracket but it'll petty much wipe off...

I strongly recommend the thread from ISHAY on his nickel P7 resto - using my Spontex and GT85 method - you can see the brilliant results in his excellent thread. But note no flaking...that's a bit more serious....
