Best mass market paint jobs?

I love those old, understated mid-90s Marins. Subtle silver, with accented details.

Diamond Back & GT's '89 candle smoke. Lovely.

So, what does it for you?

Got to be the late '80s / early '90s GTs

First bike I had was a 1990 Tequesta with the wet blended purple and white thing going on – same vintage as the Team Avalanche in black with all those lovely colours sponged on. Must have taken ages to do those paint jobs.

My current Avalanche is dates from the end of those times ('92) and is white with black splodges, looks like a cow :D

Would do anything for one of those old Team avalanches though!!!

Guess I've got a bit of a soft spot for GTs though

Gotta be the 94-96 ish kona range, fantastic colours with great looking decals across the range!

Understated is good some times. But if I had just spent a silly amount of money on a top end bike of any type then the Klein paint work would be for me. Sunburst  or Gator. Or 1994 Desert. Didn't go much on the 'storm' little too er 'boy racer'
My Trimble looks understated in the gloss black. Makes it a little less noticeable too.
the gloss black or a good block colour on an expensive bike can look  look at jez Klein  or a good met red.
I don't look at modern mtb's.
But BITD it was great to just look at a maker and know which year that was. Marin, Klein & GT are good examples :D

Pre Trek Kleins do it for me, sunburst in particular. Anyone else remember the horrid brown Klein Pulse c.1998?
