I agree, mid 90's Sandvik job. These are nice frames, I particularly liked the dropouts on mine. Mine had full M950 XTR and a red Manitou.

in 1993 catalog the Axis TT had a rigid fork,
in 1994 catalog the Axis TT LX came with rigid fork, the XT came with an Marzocchi

in 1995 catalog the Axis TT Pro had a Manitou 4, the Axis TT had a Manitou Magnum

Non had XTR shifters, nor an Cook crank or CK headset, but you may not regret this deviation from spec ;)

As others said, this is a nice find and needs a bit of love. The obviously too long suspension fork looks awful.

could this be a later year with xtr or possibly a custom build?
That's certainly a custom build, XTR 950 was introduced late 1995 for 96 model year, but the Axis TT was only sold between 1993 and 95.
It has also the cable guide at the back for Cantilevers.

I think that most Axis TT, but also in general rather rare and formerly expensive Titan Bikes are rather custom builds.
Obviously your's too. So don't mind, just replace fork and maybe stem and bar too, with something better fitting and for the rest what ever you like.
