Not seen one of those in yonks, a rival to Shimano's parallel push brakes if I remember correctly. The cheaper Avid Arch Rivals were slightly more common. Is it correct that the arch was for centering the brakes or was I completely wrong ?
 
there have been plenty selling on ebay.com, NOS with boxes to boot!

Yup. That little knob at the top of the arch (or the bottom in this case) you would loosen, then you could set the pads on either side of the rim at the same distance from the rim.

I installed a set of these for a buddy BITD - I don't know that I can think of another MTB part made this well. Best brake I've ever worked with.
