Are GT Karakoram's Scarce?

Hi,

As an owner of a 92 GT Karakoram (Black) and very stock, it just dawned on me that I've not seen many other Karakorams on this site.

Does this mean that they are pretty rare or just not worth bothering about
- cant believe its the latter.

A friend of mine had a 97 karokoram, (presumably still has it) and i always thought i had never seen many of them.

I think it was more because they were a mid range bike and most people went for either the model up or the model down.

There have been a couple pass through the bay, but they are not that common. Couple of Zaskars and Psyclones about though.
I think there was a red/blue karakoram back in the day which looked pretty cool IIRC ..

As I remember when I bought the bike from new, it was the top-end steel framed bike, other than the Pysclone - but the Pysclone was only available as a frame only option.

I think it had the same frame as the Borrego, but with higher spec components, namely: a full LX groupset with Parallax hubs and Araya rims.

Anyway, still surprised that there aren't more around.

Rear brake is cantilever, not U-brake.
