As description says took mine off as rebuilding a orange x1.it still works holds air compresses you can hear the oil in it as well so no leaks.but there is something around inside.are they easy to service and what could the rattling thing be.also how much oil to put back in

Re:

Does it have the lock out, or not? No significance to me though.

If it functions ok, i would leave the internals alone as strata don't seem to be operating or have dealer X taking care of them.

I whacked 200-250 pounds of air in mine and, got me the correct setup. As for oil...wind out the schraeder valve assembly and carefully tip the oil towards the valve hole, use a cotton bud to dip or suchlike. If the oil looks red and clean, put it back together.

I'm in the US, so shipping was not much. I'd suggest sending them an email and asking what shipping would be to wherever you are. Risse also make their own dampers, and they can custom tune them to work with many older bikes.

I'm not aware of anyone else that services them, though. And they go for like $200 on ebay. Since replacements aren't cheap or readily available, so investing in a service seemed like the best thing for me to do.

guys I have the same shock I have taken it apart and need to know how much oil and psi to put in her . any help would be greatly appreciated ohh and I also have rebuilt my x1👌

All these X1 owners coming out of the woodwork 😆

My Stratos had an annoying clunk and gave up trying to find anyone who’d entertain looking at it - went with a Fox Alps 4 or 5? in the end and had that serviced as this was an OEM option BITD

Sound like you just need less than a ML of oil adding to yours and good to go
