Or familiar with it at all..?

I only ask as I was flicking through some old MBUKs from '95 and saw that one of the NEMBA/Karrimor series was held there, so I'm assuming it must be half decent at least! I've never heard of it till now but a quick look on google maps shows it to be around 15mins drive from Delamere so local enough to tempt me!

Anyone fancy it as a possible NW Retro ride sometime soon....?

Cheers, Matty :D

Re:

Never heard of it either, but I wonder if it's the hills I look at from the M56 all too often and wonder if there's any trails in them. Got to be worth checking out, at worst we can scoot over to Delamere if we don't find anything.

Finding a free day at the moment is another matter altogether... :(

Re:

I raced at the 1995 NEMBA/Karrimor event. It was a great, about 5 or 6 miles each lap with a real mix of trails in the woods and farmland.
I remember checking at the time and was all on footpaths and private land.
Funnily enough you can organise races on footpaths but you can't on bridleways for some reason.

Looking at an OS map, there are very few stretches of bridleway. I'm not sure whether there is any legal riding in the area.

I wouldn't mind seeing that article in MBUK though...

Re:

Hmmm, perhaps that's why no ones really aware of it then if it's footpaths only - googled it and not much mention of bridleways.

Not got an article on the race, sorry Paul - it was just an advert announcing the NEMBA events calendar.
