need advice really. 1989 cannondale m400/500 i believe. Bright red with full later m737/738 groupset except the original sugino cranks. ive got all the suntour i took off,ie diacompe cantis and levers, suntour mechs etc,the bike never came with wheels so hence the reason rebuilding with matching xt. the locals for advertising "slag it" for being so so old and "no suspension". just looking for a quick sale due to un-expected job change and literally no spare time.....dont know how to get pictures on the site, but can email direct with help from home, would prefer collection or meet somewhere close to nottingham. IT IS NEAR MINT AND NEEDS A GOOD HOME,NOT BREAKING!!!

Sorry forum rules are that you must state a price. If you are unsure of a figure try asking in the frequently overlooked "how much is my XYZ worth" thread.

If it's a 89, the headtube logo is a train station, not a stripped triangle, and the rear chain stays and stays are joigned on the dropout (on 90, the stays are in front of the drop out, welded directly on the chain stays)

SERIES 3 CANNONDALE

Reason why i love this site, everyone knows a bit about all bikes out there! good advice gave me the urge to read my frame number and steerer tube,so sorry from the link provided i am only 6 months out and for you all to note its def a 1990 and 18"according to frame number on the underneath of the lhd rear stay( forks are 1989 thou, and yes the originals from the factory). i was led to believe it was an 89 when i purchased and rather a diff size.BUT it does qualify for "Retro" i hope? thanks guys......the group removed is suntour xc,master, and diacompe cantis, still in good nick and safe in a bag(somewhere!!)

Generally the guide on this site is that anything older than 1997 is considered 'retro'. Some up to 1999s can make it depending upon what they are :)

(Cue flaming....)
