I think it might be a Muddy Fox! Pretty sure my older sister's boyfriend had one when I was about 13 and he nicked my football so I let his tyres down and hid the pump so he had to walk about 10 miles home. Ha

It's actually bugging me, I definitely remember that frame but I'm now leaning towards what was said above, a Mustang with the galloping horses along the top tube.

Frame is too different to be an Ascent EX 1989. The components are too low end as well.
Thats what I thought it was at first!
