My son’s girlfriend has started out on a 100km cotswold camping and cycling weekend. Rear hanger has snapped and local bike shop doesn’t have a replacement ( not surprising because of the sheer number of patterns). I could only suggest shortening chain and running it single speed. She has decided to abandon and will have to get a taxi from campsite tomorrow morning. Any ingenious jury rigs that you guys know of? 3 by 8 road chainset.

I seem to recall some sort of get me home type thing that existed, can't remember how it worked, perhaps via wheel qr? Doesn't help now of course but for future trips, though may as well carry a spare hanger, though I think they were for when a new hanger was not enough.
Shortening the chain and just using the front mech is the only thing I can think of.
