Any ideas

Re:

hey, that's gotta be worth a prize? ;O) i have a couple team comps and the frame bore a remarkable resemblance. built with tange prestige ultralite and i believe standard equipment in '93, at least, was the inimitable scott unishocks. maybe the earlier ones came with cro-mo rigid fork. i don't know much about them, as they don't show up very often and they weren't in an y canadian catalogs. that said, and looking at the spec(dx), it seems to me they were made as a 'privateer' or budget-racer model, what with the way-light tube-spec and good, reliable, budget-conscious dx parts that could be upgraded as needed or afforded?

anybody know the official story/origins of 'team comp'?

Re:

Wouldn't it be 1992?

Given 1993 had no wishbone stay bikes. I remember mention of them, made for an importer or built from leftover bikes?
Deeight is the one to ask iirc.

Re:

sorry, that's right. i got my year off by one- i still had it planted in my head from the guy i bought one of my team comps from. the unishock corroborates that, as it's the first version that has 'designed by... patent pending', puts it in '92, iirc... my bad!

i wouldn't be surprised if they were a slightly souped-up version of the equipe, same geo, but just lighter/'racier' tubes?

Was the '92 Equipe still built in Canada, or already overseas? I understood the '91 Equipe still was Canada built..

I read andy tout was on one in part of the 1992 season then moved to the altitude (something like that). It very much like the altitude bar a few features.

Tout frame had unishox on and you'll find him on it in MBA a
Accessories guide 1993 guide, great wehast people chatted about in 1995 on the internet.

Oh and I think this is DeeEight bike,
http://yoda.densan.ca/kmr/rmteam.html. (at least I think that his site)

I know this is necro'ing a 2.5 year old thread but... Andy Tout now lives in the Ottawa area and has a vegetarian soup business.

He also apparently has a cabinet making business and his wife has a landscaping business. all in carleton place Ontario
