For sale I have a bit of a project.
1991 Alpinestars Al-mega DX frame in size medium with elevated chain stays, a holy grail bike from my early teenage years, sadly I have too many projects on the go.
The frame does have some issues which I was going to entrust Argos cycles of Bristol with, these being:
Snapped front mech hanger - was going to have removed and use a standard clamp on front mech.
Cracked headtube - to be welded and reinforcement external bands.
Cracked seat tube clamp area - welded.
After this, new paint and decals from Gil at retro decals.
Also included are a some original and other parts to get the build going:
Original combined seat post clamp QR and rear brake hanger.
Rear wheel - Ritchey Vantage Comp rim with very little wear on a Shimano Deore DX hub and QR, with Shimano Hyperglide cassette in great order and Tioga TT tanwall tyre.
Post Modern Seatpost and Ritchey Vextor Plus Rail saddle.
Black uncut 25.4 bars with slight sweep.
Shimano Deore DX short cage rear mech.
Shimano Deore DX cantis with rear straddle wire and mounting bolts. Aztec pads have plenty of life left.
Shimano UN73 (XT quality) bottom bracket, super smooth.
SRAM PC-58 stainless chain with power link, little use from my chain indicator.
Various cable outers and sheeves from the bike plus one alloy cable ferrule so you can source the rest.
Happy to post at cost or for collection near Warminster in Wiltshire. Can drop off if your close too.
