Hi all :D
Due to change of circumstance and lack of storage space, I've got to thin the boy"O"boy collection down to essential 'riders'. 1st up for sale is my fully restored alpinestars AL-Mega DX as seen in the 'neon special' botm.

This bike has been fully stripped and repainted. The neon is blindingly bright...probably as bright (or even brighter!) than when it was new. The graphics have been painstakingly hand made with the 'ripped' dividers in vivid neon pink. Without doubt, possibly the most iconic alpinestars colour way.....it was my 'most wanted' from bitd, and the effort that went into this resto to get it 'just right' took a considerable amount of time.

When the bike was fully stripped back to bare aluminium, there was evidence of a lengthways fracture in the top tube that had been repaired. Chrisv40 who was the original owner of the frame was told by the guy that repaired it that it was 'perfectly useable'. All other areas of the frame are absolutely fine. I wouldn't recommend riding 'hard' on this bike as it certainly would have been slightly weakened in this area, but as a 'light' rider it would be fine for towpaths or similar.

Spec as follows-
19" c-c Alpinestars AL - Mega DX frame/ cro-mo straight blade fork.
Full DX group set with XT STI brake lever/shifter combo.
Neon yellow answer ATAC stem and Taperlite bars.
Grey anodised Mavic M261CD rims on DX hubs with Tioga pyscho amber wall tyres. (used)
Shannon seat post and flite saddle
New cables, bottom bracket, chain etc....

Bad points- (apart from limitations on use)
Bike needs a proper set up. I only had a few of the metal ferrules.... The cables pull through the cable guides without them.
The rear mech inner cable has been cut slightly too short.

.....other than that. Absolutely perfect.

Not interested in any PX's or trades.
After the effort that's gone into this one, don't want to split it either.
Looking for a straight sale, payment via paypal.
Will consider international shipping at cost to buyer.

£450 uk posted o.n.o

Interest via PM - I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.

Pics to follow in a while or check build thread here-

I think Silverfish wants the bars if you split it - if he doesn't then I'd like them!

Lovely bike BTW.

:D

Edit: I'd like the wheels if you split.

Would LOVE the bars AND the stem but understand if you don't want to a split it. Have a free bump, tis a beautiful bike.

Absolutely stunning Alpinestar, and sorry to hear about your circumstances the other day Ben.. :(

It was an absolute pile when Ben bought it off me, and he's done a job beyond amazing.

Dig deep guys, for this work of art. .

Snowy Sunday bump.

Thanks for the interest so far.... Would prefer not to split but if it's still here in a month's time, I'll have to go down that route :( seems a shame though :(

Cheers,
boy"O"boy

Understood boy o boy. Hate to pick apart a bike for the pieces, feel like a vulture!

But if you don't get any interest and end up splitting it, will give you a good price for the stem and bar.

But good luck with the sale regardless.

that is just what i'm looking for, pity i don't have any money at the mo.
it'd be a shame to split it.
hope you get a buyer soon.

sorry, another vulture smelling blood, i would be interested in the Pyscho Tyres if you go down the splitting route.

Still here with a will listen to near offers type bump :(

Acknowledging those that are interested in various parts should it come to splitting the bike. Post here if you are interested in any of the other components - obviously I don't want to be left with a load of random bits if I do split.

All the best,
boy"O"boy
