AL CARTER mountain bikes

My first proper MTB was an Al Carter Professional.

Really cool Grey smoke paint job and Shimano 400LX throughout.

Plastic brake levers and push push STI.

I had bright green Onza cromo ski bar ends and a Specialized rear rack.

It got stolen and replaced with an Orange P7 in 1994.

For me they will forever be known as Guardians of the minty DX, it's like a universal law of nature that every few months a Black Panther will surface dressed in shiny barely ridden DX.

As a DX appreciator if I ever manage to get my hands on one old Al's gonna get swiftly stripped and flipped.

The Al Carter brand was advertised on TV back in the day but I can't seem to find it on the interweb now. I always thought Al Carter must be a famous road racer or something but was it just a made up name?
