96 Saracen Protrax SE - strip and rebuild

My first Saracen, love it so far - gorgeous Racing Green, looks pretty mint. Decided to strip completely and polish. 8 coats of Green Turtle Colour Magic later . . .

Taking shape - cranks/rings cleaned - new, shorter stem (Velo Orange), some Shimano rapid fire shifters from eBay.

Nice. Saracen frames of that era 1994ish) were when Saracen were at the top of their game before their BSO years. I had the kilicomp and cut through the noodle to be able to fit v-brake.

I predict 27.2 mm

Yes, 27.2 mm seatpost, though mine is shimmed (to 25.4 I think). Although it has the original saddle and post from the 96 catalogue so I guess the shim was original spec too.

ah yes, I remember now, mine too had a shim for the USE seatpost.
