Paint matching will be really nice because it will help sort-of fade that crazy-ass fork into the frame. I can picture it now.

I will say tho, with all that in mind, this beauty deserves XT at the very least!

And it certainly deserves better than Gripshift! ;)

That beat-up Flite is in mint condition!

I very rarely build bikes with Shimano parts. I started the build with the wheels I already had in mind. They are Deore DX hubs, so decided to go on with it.
It's a blue collar frame, so why not DX.
And anyway, I'm all about the people. 😁

Gripshift has always been and always will be my shifter of choice. They are tidy, light and have always worked best for me, with a far more natural action. And no I've never once shifted by mistake etc.. which is a common comment by people who think thumbs are for shifting!! STI's are just an alien feel to me.
