I picked this up recently from Captaincosmic or i should say he kindly brought it to me! gave it the mandatory T-cut and touch up as best i could and built it up with the stuff that i had had on another frame moons ago.

The forks are just for show as it were as they dont actually work...I've removed the innards and locked it into position with some tubing and bolts, works great as a rigid and is not so harsh on my back with a little bit of lift at the front. ( I have a wanted ad looking for a pair of functioning forks if anybody has some for sale please let me know)

Re:

Yes! A tidy example mate.

1992 is my fave year for marin, and i like the irony of the top and bottom of the range sharing the same paintwork (bolinas) that deep purple and neon green.

The rigid forks were just some black spinner's iirc, should be easy to source if you go rigid at some point.

It would be a dream bike with those browning forks on, hard to find though.
Very good, hope you enjoy it, steve has gone all rocky mountain now, he may as well be canadian. Was he blasting out cajun music when he dropped it off?

cheers.

Re:

I think like the nickel plated Team Issue with which it shares frame numbers the team was offered with violet Rockstars or Rockshox mag 21 ,Pops has the Rockstars .
You have done wonders with her she looks fantastic, and rides even better as I found out at Mountain Mayhem three years ago.

Cheers Marc :)

I'm getting a fondness for this years models too! The thing with Bolinas sharing the same colour scheme, tempts me to look out for a cheap one to rob the stem for a bit more rise at the front, I think they had a 1 inch steerer, but with a shim it might work :D I don't think i'd consider going rigid on this one bud as the top tube is another half inch longer than the '93 I.F.T... And you know how painful they can be on a long ride! ;)
