91 Al mega Dx

Picked this up today and was looking forward to giving it a tidy and some new parts. Seller told me that the frame was clean and crack free. Asked him to double check and he said all was good.

The one from Swindon I'm guessing. I could see from the pics it didn't have a front mech so assumed, wrongly, the hanger might be snapped off. Funny enough the one I have came from Swindon as well.

one look at the frame and realised that this was too good to be true. Having driven an hour to collect I wasn’t going to leave with nothing so I took it away at a massively reduced price. Bike is now split for parts which I will post soon. Only use for the frame is wall art I guess Gutted.

Yes mate, that’s the one. Front mech Hanger bracket is intact and I had a front mech lined up but no need now unfortunately These frames seem to be very brittle.

Hmmm. Don’t want to be rude to butt in but there is a fab shop just in the lot next to us and I think they could fix that. Unless you want it as wall art? Would be a shame to end its life there.

Where is this place mate? Not really sure what I will do next as I wasn’t planning to pump a load of cash into this bike. I do agree that there could still be life in it.

Darlington, thereabouts. They could probably do it for cheap but not free

Just to note they are not a bike place, they specialise in body repairs(cars) but it would still work right?

I mean it is really only putting a bead of weld on the cracks, hoping it doesn’t warp.
