I don't want to derail (do you see what i did there) the original thread, but there are different opinions about this.The New Success shifters were made by Campagnolo, re-branded Chorus. Sachs collaborated with Campagnolo to create the new 8 speed ergo shifter. The shift throw therefore should be the same as Campagnolo, so not sure if Shimano compatible
The argument is that third generation new success rear mechanisms have the same (very close to) pull ratio as Shimano mechanisms, therefore, while the brifters look the same as chorus, internally they are different.

To throw further fuel on the fire, I use both 8 speed chorus and 8 speed new success and the New success I find shifts more crisply and feels better (Confirmation Bias alert)
