Europas used cheap stamped steel dropouts, didn't they? These are clearly forged.

A lamp bracket on a 753 fork is unusual, but not out of the question, surely. Note also that the frame already has a "753 Renovated" decal in the pre-renovated shot. The lamp bracket and mudguard bosses could well have been added at the time of the previous repaint. These things happen.

I agree. Whilst several features here are unusual for a 753 frame, this is definitely no Raleigh Europa!
I'm pretty clueless about road bikes ('racing' bikes at least) of this period but I'm quite familiar with Vernon's work, and all this looks fairly feasible...?

just think we should be a little more tentative or certain before questioning a sellers integrity, maybe..

surely no builder worth his salt would build a 753 or any custom frame with such a ghastly fork crown, seat lug and bb shell?? they are fitting for the likes of something mass produced.

Enough of the details match the green 753 MB frame on flickr to be fairly certain that this is an MB too. The thinned lug profiles and the reinforcing details on the brake bridge and bottle mounts wouldn't appear on a mass-produced bike of the period.

I think it's clearly a quality frame, and almost certainly an MB. Is it 753? I honestly couldn't say.

I've just noticed that it has mudguard eyes on the rear dropouts, but as far as I can make out, none on the fork ends. Or is it just me?
