2nd hand carbon....

Never had a problem & sold some on and never had bad feed back the buyers are alive and still mtb'ing

good question seeing as i just bought some. i guess its ok as long as the laquer is intact and no water has crept in causing it to delaminate. luckly i have access to friends who work with carbon and fiberglass. if a bar has been cut down its probley a good idea to get the end sealed. looking at the testing these things go through i dont worry to much.

Thanks guys, it has always seemed a bit risky to me..... been browsing ebay and wondered what peoples experiences were

brought and sold carbon bars posts and allsorts as long as you check em over for damage and there isn't any you should be fine look at some of the carbon from BITD thats still rolling stong now cadex's carbon kevlar bars brake boosters old scott endorfins

Personally when it comes to MTB I wouldn't go anywhere near Carbon frames, bars or seatposts.

Whilst on the topic of carbonfibre, i was reading somewhere that there were starting to be health concerns about the stuff becoming the new asbestos...so what do you guys think? i mean if you look at the stuff under a microscope it looks pretty similar.

Secondhand shouldn't make a difference so long as they aren't damaged, its the same as any other material any cuts or cracks and its upto you wether you want to risk it.
