Hey, I'm looking into buying a cannondale hybrid as I'm doing more road work. Right, 29ers... I've never rode one, are they better than the 700c for rolling faster on road are they good for hills etc. can I please just get a few pros and cons from people before I take the plunge. Many thanks Rob

Have a word with BarneyBallBags. He had one for a while. Another mate of mine had one and it led to him wanting a road bike. So he joined the Darkside (as STW call it)

Re:

A note to anyone reading this who is considering buying a Cannondale Badboy:

Buy second hand because they'll often have been upgraded. The standard spec on the brand new bikes is woeful (Alivio and Acera as the spec on a £800 bike, really?)..

A lot of the second hand bikes will have been well looked after and will be twice the machine of something new!

I recently bought the 700c version as I knew I didn't need fatter rubber for my rides.....it was a close choice between 29er mind.

I still go down farm tracks and stuff that a slick tired hybrid shouldn't....but it's no bother.

There bombproof bikes.

Cool, there was a 29er on gumtree I was thinking about calling about but not sure if it's still there, I'm also looking at ridgeback flight range.

The 700c version doesn't have much room in the chain stays....29er version is wider I guess.
