1982 according to Wikipedia, but I'm sure there are not too many of those floating around anymore.
It's too bad there are no catalogues before 1987 posted online to show some of the earlier Rockies.

Here's a good pic of a 1985 Sherpa from the Rocky factory...behind is an 87 Discovery I believe.

I think a lot of the early Sherpas looked similar. This pic is listed as a 1982 Sherpa, which was included in the 1996 Rocky Mountain Catalogue:
