Need some advise...

Looking for a nice Shimano 28.6 bottom pull front changer to match up with a RD-M735 for a 7 speed set up.

Happy with a decent used or possibly NOS. Couple of questions

Am i likely to find on here anything better than these spotted on eBay?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232076352745? ... EBIDX%3AIT

In the XT range what am i looking for?

Not easy when adverts here and elsewhere often don't list the band size or pull direction. Once I know what i am looking for i will post a wanted thread here! Happy to receive pm's if any one has just the job

Thanks in advance

Mark

Lucky for you, in proper retro world, it's easy.
FD-M735 is the matching one
There is only one style and that s bottom pull, traditional.
There is an M736 but that's the top pull version.

Similarly up and down the range,
M900 (XTR),M650 (Deore DX)

Have top pull counterparts by adding 1 to the number.

That and all the bottom pull, traditionals look the same.

That eBay one is a modern style Top-Swing mech, these are not the same and do not fit quite a few old retrogrades very well. (Depends on the frame). They are also bugger for collecting mud and stones on.

Is what it will look like, even if modern it will look not to dissimilar to that.

That's great info, just what i needed, I now know what to look for, great

Any one got a spare one?
