Bought my son a Vitus last year from CRC. It’s a great little bike but the fork is pretty poor. When it works it’s good but it doesn’t seem very hard wearing. It’s been stripped down and cleaned once and seemed to be ok for a while but now, when you lift the front wheel off the ground, the stanchions pop out to their maximum extent. I’ve not looked into it yet, so any advice is welcomed, but am considering a replacement fork, though options seem scarce. Any tips on sorting the current issue or links to a half decent replacement would be welcomed. The bike cost £400 so I can’t really justify a mega expensive fork.

Those cheap forks are pretty darn simple. Buy a tub of slickoleum, get some rubbing alcohol & rags & get to cleaning. You should have it running smoothly in no time.

Might want to add a few ml's of suspension oil on the top of the air spring to keep it lubed up. I've used synthetic motor oil as a replacement.

Thank you sir :)
