Hi , thanks for the info, I've got my wires crossed somewhere then ? The hubs with the bolt through spacers are to wide to fit in my qr bombers so definitely don't fit with these adapters. That's what these adapters are meant to be for . Now I'm confused.I don't think there is such thing as a 20x100 hub. They're all 20x110, so putting these in would create a 110mm QR hub which also doesn't exist. These won't fit Hope hubs because you would need to remove the end caps and then you'd be left with a hub even narrower than 100mm too.
Nope, boost is 15x110mm which these wouldn't fit, and theres 20x110 boost now too, which is the same axle dimensions as normal 20x110 but with the disc flanges 5mm further out. Either way, these adaptors don't change the width, only reduce it from 20mm to a 9mm QR, and QR is only 100mm wide. There are the modern boost hubs now which have different spacing [ wider] than standard qr wheels
I could be wrong but I think that's what these are intended for
These must be for a specific hub - not HOPE - and replaces the 20mm end caps, as it cannot go into an end cap and also reduce the width to 100mm. Hope use 19mm wide end caps, which are replaced with 14mm wide end caps for 100mm applications. If you removed those end caps and replaced them with these they would create a 70mm axle which also doesn't exist.Hi , thanks for the info, I've got my wires crossed somewhere then ? Lots of these spacers on eBay are things that yes, are spacers, but are of zero use. I've seen a few others in combinations that simply won't ever work. QR adaptors for a 20mm hub are one of them, as a 150mm x12mm QR reducer which was another one I saw. Basically they've been designed by someone who simply doesn't understand what bike standards/specs are and how they work with each other.
Just change the thread to 'withdrawn'.Hey these are eBay bought jobbies. I thought on the off chance I could get around a problem I had with my front hub and the reviews were quite convincing on these. Clearly not and these are not fit for purpose. Is there any way of deleting this post ? It's been years since I have been into my mountain biking and I made a very rusty judgement with these
Thanks
Hey, don't be embarrassed about it, I'd suggest the post gets moved into general chat and more people will be aware of these things. I was looking for a converter for a rear 12mm hub to use on my Trek as the original Bulb axles are NLA and it was through all the years of having used the different axles, and tbh a bit of 'just knowing' that I spotted the duds amongst the genuinely useful ones. Even a 20mm to 15mm boost one for the front I'm unsure of because of relative disc mounting positions and such. Hopefully you manage to find a solution for your front wheel.Hey these are eBay bought jobbies.
