The bike does feel solid on the drops barrelling down the footpaths. The fattys always seemed to wander at speed when using 26” and now they feel steady. I think I’ll ride over to Hadleigh for a test run soon.

Umming and ahhing over this, mainly because the the 700c leave little clearance for anything wider. I’m currently running some cyclocross tyres but the more the watch rons (ultraromances) YouTube the more I want a set of 650b’s and some wider rubber. Which might end up being around the same size anyway :-/

It does climb better than my other 26 bikes but I suppose that’s hardly surprising given the wheel size and width, which I’d lose by moving to a wider tread.

For where I live, it’s fine for the local trails (not that there’s many) and if I go further afield I’m taking my modern full sus instead of this.

This was prime for parting out as, like many of us, there’s too many in the stable, but taking it out today I still kinda like it.
