Your chance to own a bit of cycling history with this 2004 Trek Madone in Tour de France winning USPS team colours. Originally purchased in Austin, Texas and ridden extensively around that area by my ex-pat father-in-law, it was brought back with him to the UK in 2011 but has seen little use since then and it is now time for someone else to enjoy it. There is a bit of backstory that I am unable to prove but it is thought to have origianlly been a Trek USPS team practice bike in Austin and the 2nd owner had a relative that worked for the team - if someone was really keen they might be able to do the necessary research to find out. Aside from its collectable value, this is a strong and lightweight full carbon bike that is still highly usable and well-equipped with a 3x9 Shimano Ultegra drivetrain to help tackle those climbs. Due to the time it has been sitting, it would benefit from a full service and maybe some new tyres. The pictures show it is in very good condition but it was well used and enjoyed years ago and so it does have some minor scratches, mostly to the decals but overall it presents remarkably well for a 20-year old bike! A bit of research indicates that these were over $4000USD new and were a very advanced bike for the time. Would suit a rider of 5' 10" - 6' 1". I am looking for £750 but open to sensible offers.
