For Sale - 2004 Klein Q Carbon Team
Frame size: Large. I’m 6ft 2in with a 34in leg and fits me perfectly.
Tips the scales at 8.7kg
Owned since brand new, back in the day. I bought it as a trade up from my old Klein Quantum road bike at the time. I’ve always liked Klein’s and this currently sits in my office next to an old Klein Attitude mountain bike.
Absolutely stunning colour scheme on the bike, with a heavy metallic flake in the gorgeous volcanic orange paint.
The welding quality is top notch as you’d expect, and this is one of the last Klein's manufactured in the U.S.A. during the Trek era. Conventional aluminium frame, with rear seat stays in carbon fibre, which give nice degree of comfort on the road. The front forks also have carbon fibre legs.
Spec is completely standard, and offered an intriguing combo, which is why i bought this model:
Shimano 105 front mech,
Shimano 105 triple chainset,
Shimano 105 rear mech and cassette
Shimano Ultegra Flight deck shifters
Shimano Tiagra brakes and wheels hubs.
Matrix Aurora Wheel rims
Bontrager seat post, tyres, stem, bar tape, plugs and bars
Cane Creek head set
Selle Italia seat
The condition is pretty good IMO, given its around 20 years old, with some tiny elements of corrosion around the usual bottle cage mount bolts and cable entry lugs on the frame. Also, there's the odd mark or nick out of the paint/fork stickers etc. Difficult to avoid as these bikes get older. Sadly the owners manual has been lost in various house moves over the years.
It’s hardly been ridden over the last 10 years and has pretty much been an office ornament, so i’m selling it to potentially fund a modern full-sus mountain bike to go out riding with my kids.
Collection only, although could potentially meet if it's not too far. Located in North Hampshire.
