Finally had a chance to get some good photos of the new/old '01 F700. It was a one-owner survivor that had very few miles on it but for some reason was filthy dirty with scuffs all over the frame. A good cleaning, a tune-up and some TLC, and I was able to start to make it mine. Added a new RaceFace seatpost, Selle Flite manganese saddle, Mzryh 3 flat pedals and a new set of Continental Race King tires in 2.2" front and 2.0" rears. New RaceFace 580mm carbon flat bar out of my stash, a 31.4mm Cannondale Headshok stem and SRAM lock-on grips round out the new cockpit. Plan to go to 1x this winter.
Finally got the brakes bled properly thanks to finding the original M4 bleed valve on thepaceline.net, but I'm still struggling with terrible brake squeal in both front and rear discs after painstakingly getting them both centered perfectly in the calipers. Not a big fan.
She cleaned up nice and rides wonderfully. With any luck, I'm gonna get her out on the trails this week. We shall see how the bike and rider both do after being away from dirt for so long.
