2000 Orange Mr XC. Green Orange!

Hello all,
I gotta green Orange. 's lovely. Another bargain, this time from the mighty Hamster of this parish.
It's a 16 in the best colour ever - Slime Green. Came with a BB, XT front mech, Hope seat clamp and QR, Fox shock and Rockshox Toras.

With my Alpine trail I wanted a freeride bike, basically, and now I have one ( or at least will have when I stop faffing with the brakes - they might need to be replaced ) but this is a beautiful lightweight machine. ( Surprisingly light, I thought, though I've not weighed it yet)
I'll be starting later in the year, and it'll be a fairly upmarket build for me, so it'll take a good while, but as long as it's ready for spring I'll be happy - not like I am short of something to ride.
I am thinking mostly XT, with disks and some strategically placed Hope or X lite bling. (Stem, Hope QRs that sort of thing ) I have an Orange Super Cross bar that has been earmarked for it too.
Oh can anyone tell me which hole in the shock mount is for long or short travel?

Any suggestions or experiences of this bike? I understand it was only made for a short period of time.

The travel is the same either way as far as I can understand. However you can use it to tweak the geometry a little - the upper one is for longer forks, like the Toras wound out to 120mm. A standard they had 80mm travel on the front with Manitou SX - less than the rear!

The Toras seemed to suit it very well. However the bike was way too capable for my local area and so I went back to hardtails and rigid singlespeed. BTW, I stripped out and serviced the pivots and reassembled with copperslip, so no need to do anything there!

I believe it went on to become the Sub 3 and was the original version of what they base the designs around today. The Sub 3 had conventional tubes like yours, the Sub 5 (Original 5) had a monocoque front triangle.

I'm loving the slime green and that frame looks pretty too so i think i'm gonna pull me chair up with me cupa for this ..
